World’s largest footwear park in Haryana

The Chief Minister of Haryana Manohar Lal Khattar declared on Saturday, 17th November 2018 that a footwear park would be developed at Bahadurgarh in the district of Jhajjar. It is going to be the biggest in the world. The project is going to be spread over a land of 910 acres and would consist of over 620 production plants. This announcement was made after the chief minister inaugurated the Skill Development and Quality Control Centre under the Footwear Development Institute in Bhadurgarh.

A Footwear Skill Development Centre is going to be built along with this project o over 5 acres of land for imparting training to the local people so that they can be employed in the sector. He chief minister also announced the building of new commercial and industrial plots on 60 acres, an industrial waste disposal centre on 1 acre and a transport city on about 32 acres. Every city in Haryana under PPP mode would also be provided with a Super Sucker Machine to improve the sewage system.

Every year, 7000 to 8000 trainees is going to be trained in footwear technique in the Skill Development and Quality Control Centre and would get employment in the footwear sector

The Chief Minister declared that Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) play a major part in providing employment and therefore will be promoted by the State Government. Micro and small industrial units having electricity load less than 20kW would be charged only Rs 4.75 per unit instead of Rs 6. The Kundli-Manesar-Palwal Expressway is also going to be developed as an economic corridor to help these industries.
