AAI Is On the Verge of Setting Up New Food & Beverage Services At Goa International Airport

The earlier attempt by Airport Authority India (AAI) of refurbishing the dining option at the Goa International Airport that has hit air pocket, the AAI is again taking an initiative to set up food & beverage services at the Goa International Airport through an agency. According to an officer of AAI, the new agency will be functional within 6 months.

Five agencies have been approached by AAI for developing, managing, maintaining, operate, set up and market outlets of food & beverage at the Goa International Airport.

A new contract has been given to a new group after the contract with the existing restaurant Port Lounge got expired on 31st March 2018. The Seven Hills Buildcon Private Limited and Kamat Hotel (India) was given the permission to operate eateries & restaurants at the integrated airport terminal but after LOIA was given, the consortium failed to obey the conditions of LOIA.

The companies that have qualified on the technical basis in the month of January were asked to submit quotation by 24th July but Seven Hills Buildcon Private Limited and Kamat Hotel (India) were not allowed to participate in the process.

Seven Hills Buildcon Private Limited and Kamat Hotel (India) take resort to lower courts of Vasco after AAI show-caused the consortium & morselled the award letter, said by the officials of AAI.

It has been indeed critical for the passengers to get access to food as the airport has only one food stall and a restaurant in the lounge area with limited food options for years.
