Women in Vijayawada to receive leather art training


VIJAYAWADA: Cultural Centre of Vijayawada and Amaravati recently inaugurated a unique three-day training program to train the women in the city on leather art.

D Vijay Bhaskar inaugurated the event, he is the director of language and cultural department of Andhra Pradesh. While addressing the event, Bhaskar said that this training program would be helpful for women and let them pursue their talent, also it would promote the art.

To start with the program, women learned to make lab shade lamps, wall paintings and toys made from leather. They also received help in terms of plans to monetize the skills they learn there. Training was given by the field experts. This event was organized by department of language and culture, Minaakshi Arts and Crafts Welfare Society and Cultural Centre of Vijayawada and Amaravati.
