Azure Power announced bagging of solar power project of 200 mw procured through an auction organized by Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI).
In a statement released by the company, it stated, "The 200 mw allocation is the largest by SECI in this auction, 80 per cent of the total.”
They informed that, according to a power purchase pact with SECI Azure Power would supply power at a tariff of Rs. 2.48 per kWh for the coming 25 years.
The solar plant would be set at Bhadla solar Park in Rajasthan and the project would start from next year.
"We are delighted to make this contribution towards realization of Prime Minister's commitment towards clean and green energy, through solar power generation," Azure Power founder, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Inderpreet Wadhwa said.
In the year 2015, Azure Power built a 100 mw solar power plant which was outside a solar park in Rajasthan. That was SECI’s first allocation to the company and also largest solar power project to be undertaken by India’s National Solar Mission.
Azure power is a leading independent solar power producer in India, to its credit they have a portfolio of more than 1,600 mw in several states and Union territories.
