In 1884 George Percival and his brother James Baker had found the famous British wallpaper and textile house named GP & J Baker. Ever since 1982 the company has the Queen’s Royal Warrant.
H&M is a Swedish high street retailer who has officially said that they are collaborating with the renowned GP & J Baker for a print. The managing director and creative art director of GP & J Baker, Ann Grafton says that she is honoured and thrilled about this collaboration. Previously H&M had another collaboration with a heritage brand, Moschino and Love Stories. In 2018, that collaboration has lead to a massive print makeover in their total range of apparels.
According to Ann Grafton, the prints that are chosen by H&M are unique in their own way. Their designs are original and eye catching. She is delighted to know that these designs would have a new innovative venture and leave a mark in the modern fashion era. Even Pernilla Wohlfahrt, the design director of H&M is excited about this collaboration. She feels that this is the best time to make a mark in the fashion world with new patterns and prints that are obtained from collaborating with the reputed brand GP & J Baker.
They will concentrate on overhauling the womenswear collection by combing the each other’s designs. Some of the prints that would be used are Magnolia, Classic Oriental Bird, Blossom and Hydrangea Bird that would be combined with Fretwork. The clothing items would range from shoulder blouses and accessories to dresses and trousers. They would be appealing to women who love prints and new fashion as the collection would have a strong feminine feel. From the 2nd of August their new collection will be available at hm.com and the products can be ordered from all over the world.
